Third Welland Canal (1881 - 1932)


The Third Welland Canal is for the most part almost entirely still standing. Out of 26 locks, there are only like 7 locks that cannot be seen today. There is an entire stretch behind the current Welland Canal, known as the Welland Canal Wetlands, which contains lock 11 - 19 that makes an amazing hike. Below you find a photo tour of the remains!
