Second Welland Canal (1845 - 1915)

While the Third Welland Canal officially opened in 1881, the Second Welland Canal continued to be used for local transportation of goods until 1915. There is actually a lot of the Second Welland Canal to be found as most of it is used as an open air sewer system today. Many of the 27 locks are entact and visible. Below you find a photo tour of the remains!
